Cookie Policy

Untap, Inc.

This Cookie Policy explains how Untap, Inc. ("Untap", "we", "our", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites (untap.tech, untap.us, and our other domains listed in our Privacy Policy).

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal data more generally.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to website operators. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, and software development kits (SDKs). For simplicity, we refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.

2. Categories of cookies we use

We group cookies into four categories:

Strictly necessary

These cookies are essential for the Services to function. They cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as logging in, setting privacy preferences, or submitting a form. You can set your browser to block them, but parts of the site will not work.
Lawful basis: these do not require consent under GDPR or ePrivacy/PECR because they are strictly necessary.

Functional

These cookies remember choices you make (such as language, region, or display preferences) and provide enhanced, personalized features. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.
Lawful basis: consent.

Analytics

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our websites by collecting and reporting information anonymously or pseudonymously. We use this to improve the Services and our marketing.
Lawful basis: consent.

Marketing

These cookies track your activity across websites to help advertising partners deliver relevant ads to you and measure their effectiveness. Untap uses limited B2B marketing cookies for retargeting our website visitors on LinkedIn and for measuring campaign performance.
Lawful basis: consent.

4. Managing your cookie preferences

4.1 Consent banner

When you first visit any of our websites from the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or any other region where consent is required, we present a cookie banner. You can:

  • Accept all cookies;
  • Reject all non-essential cookies (equally prominent option);
  • Manage preferences by category.

You can change your choices at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in our website footer.

4.2 Browser controls

Most browsers allow you to:

  • See which cookies are stored and delete them individually;
  • Block third-party cookies;
  • Block cookies from specific websites;
  • Block all cookies (this may break parts of our Services);
  • Delete all cookies when the browser closes.

Guidance for common browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.

4.3 Opt-out tools

  • Google Analytics: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
  • LinkedIn: LinkedIn Ad Settings
  • Industry tools: Your Online Choices (EU), YourAdChoices (US), Network Advertising Initiative

4.4 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Our websites respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal for users in jurisdictions that recognize it (including California). When we detect a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sale/share of personal information and as a withdrawal of consent for marketing and analytics cookies.

We do not currently respond to legacy "Do Not Track" browser signals, as no common standard exists, but we honor GPC.

5. Changes to this policy

We will update this Cookie Policy when our cookie use changes. Material changes will be surfaced in the consent banner and via the "Last updated" date above.
